Install MySQL Community Server on Linux Server

MySQL was replaced by Mariadb in Debian 9 (Stretch).

Repository Setup

Download and install the Repository Setup Package:

APT

https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/repo/apt/

Yum

https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/repo/yum/

SUSE

https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/repo/suse/

Download the deb package for Debian based distros:

wget https://dev.mysql.com/get/mysql-apt-config_0.8.29-1_all.deb

apt install ./mysql-apt-config_0.8.29-1_all.deb

Configure Repository

Install

apt install mysql-community-server
